Last day of term

It's the last life drawing session before Easter. The poses were mostly 3 minute poses so I used charcoal to block in the basic shape and then carve the shape out with a pencil. I'm working quite expressively of late. I've discovered if you spend to much time on a drawing it loses its life, and become stiff and flat. Luckily theses quick poses didn't allow me to fiddle or tweak.

V&A Trip

I focused my time on my day out to London on the vast collection of sculptures they have. I used a graphite stick for all my drawings there and an A5 sketchbook with soft paper. In hindsight I wish I had some brush pen and inks and some normal paper as I would have liked to work quicker, more expressively and try out new techniques.

Layout training 2

I haven't made a post in a while so I hope this will make up for my absence. These are just a bunch of drawings I've done over the past couple of weeks trying to build up my layout skills. Some took a while to do and some are just impressions and thumbnails. They are drawings of my local cafe, the inside of my house and the outside of my house. All different sizes and one different paper using various materials. I found that the regular paper works best. The soft recycled paper was holding me back.

Jump Project designs

Just an update on what I am doing at the moment. This involves a jump obviously, but the main point of this exercise is to study and explore the anticipation. I chose a basic anatomical figure as my character because I want to focus on the muscle movements of the human figure aswell. Besides my character design needs a little improving.
